Spotting Photos
I got lucky with this one.
Or, another way of looking at it is: I stayed sharp.
I noticed these two fellas mirroring each other. And that provided me with an opportunity.
But the only reason this photo happened is:
I was looking for it.
Not this scene in particular. But any scene that matched the simple human moment philosophy I work with.
This quote from Elliot Erwitt sums it up best:
“All the technique in the world doesn’t compensate for the inability to notice.”

But that’s the real crux of the matter.
Because I was alert to the things around me, I saw these two from further back.
All I had to do was hope they didn’t move. Get close enough and snap the photo.
Because the hard work was done — spotting the photo opportunity.
