All About the Scene
I was on the floating bridge between East Cowes and Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
There was no doubt that I’d get some streetscape photos. What I wasn’t expecting was to capture the scene above.

Streetscapes?
Yeah, here’s a quick explanation…
Streetscape photography captures the character of urban environments.
That might be the bustle of city life. Or the stillness of an empty street. It offers a window into the human experience shaped by its physical surroundings.
So, that means ordinary, even banal scenes count as streetscapes.
But that yacht crossing the Medina river?
I didn’t know what to do with that.
But, I did know it was a great scene. And one aspect about it saved me…
The people on the yacht.
You can just about see them towards the stern of the vessel.
Also, the light was great and there was a nice balance to the scene.
So, I took the shot. It’s neither a full-on street photo or a streetscape. But there are times when the scene itself is the photo.
